9A - Testing Hypothesis, Part 2

  • Who: Before the interview process, I thought it would be challenging to find individuals who should have the need but did not for some reason. Surprisingly, it was not at all. This time around, i decided to interview individuals who worked inside the healthcare & cosmetic field and dealt with product preparations. I feel that they are not as concern because they are well aware of how difficult and expensive it is to have extensive research done on a product. Though, there are individuals inside the industry who are very concern because they want their customers trust. 
  • What: I feel that there is both an urgency on both sides, those inside and outside the industry. Those inside the industry understand the importance of developing the trust of the customers by providing adequate information about their product. Whereas, those outside like myself want to trust those inside the industry but they need to prove that the product is sufficient. 
  • Why: Insiders understand the difficulty of obtaining the right research, managing client intel, quality control, and much more; whereas outsides only see finished product, not the in between steps. 

                                                            Inside the Boundary:                                                          

Who is in: People who love to use natural ingredients. Individuals who love makeup and skincare especially women. People who take medicine for health problems.   
                                                                             
What is the Need is: To earn the trust of customers. The need for more properly done and available background information on healthcare & cosmetic products.                                                       

Why the Need Exists: Customers bad experience with healthcare & cosmetic products that do not perform how it should.                                                      


                                                          Outside the Boundary:

Who is Not: Individuals that work in the healthcare industry and are aware of how difficult it is to earn the trust of customers. People in the industry that just do not care. Individuals in the community who have had only good experiences.   

 What is the Need is Not: Individuals inside the healthcare believe that their efforts are fine, so there is no need. Also aware of the fact that, they can not please every customer, but try their best to do what they can. Therefore, this need is not for ALL customers to get what they want. 

Alternative Explanations: Healthcare and Cosmetic industries are competing amongst each other; therefore, it can be difficult for them to keep up. This could be another explanation as to why this unmet need exists.
