26 A - Celebrating Failure

Let's Fail, A lot! 1.  Specifically for this class I failed to upload my URL for two of the assignments even though uploaded the assignment on the blog. This was definitely an L ( loss) in my book because I actually did the assignment but I also blame myself for not being careful enough to check to see if I provided the URL. 2. . I normally do the assignments a day in advance so that if I miss anything I can catch it before hand. Unfortunately, that same week I had a lot going on in terms of school, work, and extracurricular activities so I waited till the day off to finish the assignments. I learned to take my time when I submit my assignments. Also I would say I need to learn to balance/manage my schedule a little bit better especially when I know the upcoming week is going to be busy. 3. Honestly, I was disappointed in myself because I should not have forgotten. I was being a little hard on myself at first because I never  thought I would al...

25 - What's Next?

What's Next? Existing Market : 1. The window shield wiper product is definitely a new idea; thus, there still is a lot of research and work to be done. Therefore, focusing on doing more research on where to get the product manufacture, and who my possible sellers could be. 2. Interviews :  Audrey mentioned that definitely doing research on how this product will be manufactured would be essential. Evan, a college student, stated that doing a poll to see if college students could afford the prices I was offering to them as well as giving them the options of creating their own prices. This will allow me to see which price range college students could actually afford. Megan stated it would be good to start working on different marketing ideas/techniques to grab the attention of your target audience. Targeting social media outlets for instance is a good place to start. Also having informational sessions for customers to attend to understand the purpose of the product mo...

24 A Venture No. 1

Image
Putting it All Together Opportunity It seems that people tend to forget how to drive when it rains. This  usually stems from the fear of not being able to see what is ahead, behind, and side as they drive. Though half the battle is solved  with wind shield wipers for the front and back, the windows are still a problem. There is an opportunity to solve this problem by creating a product that will ensure that drivers ( customers) can see on the side of their windows as they drive. Therefore, there is a unmet need in regards to the safety of drivers who commonly drive in the rain. This need is most common in cities like Seattle, Washington,  Portland, Oregon or even in Gainesville, Fl that experience heavy rain all year round. The only demographic restriction to this opportunity is that it only applies to those who are legally able to drive by age, but in general, there are no other restrictions in terms of race, gender, and sex. This opportunity is a start o...

22A - Elevator Pitch

Elevator Pitch No. 3 Weblink: https://youtu.be/7Cj3Jdf-6lI Reflection: I received really good feedback on my second elevator pitch as compared to the first one. For this new elevator pitch, I want to be more articulative, concise, and descriptive. Though it is the same information, I wanted to make sure that I remain confident during the pitch.

21 A- Reading Reflection No.2

Bringing in a Second Question How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Kind of Big: Kind of the Story of my Life By: Scott Adams  What was the general theme or argument of the book? There are lot of different themes that Scott Adams presents to his audience regarding success. Each theme serves as a personal lesson he learned as an entrepreneur.  His uses his life story as a template of how he became successful. Some lessons/themes he mentions include sorting truth from fiction,  having a system instead of goals, your mind being a moist computer you can program, having the ability to track your personal energy, pattern recognition, and so on. How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? I enjoyed how truthful and realistic Adams is in his book. Prior to this novel, I saw failure as a purely bad thing especially in the world of entrepreneurship. I believe that this class as well as this ...

20 A - Growing Your Social Capital

" It is who you know, not what you know " 1) Domain expert  Smitty is a mechanic ( specialty in fixing Volkswagen cars) in Gainesville. He has been in this business for over 35 years. The slot I will be filling is the domain expert because he understands the functionalities of how cars work. He is also able to easily tell me if this product will be feasible for cars. Smitty has been my personal mechanic since I came to Gainesville; therefore, I believe that he would be a great expert on how this product should be displayed on the car, if feasible. If this were to workout, Smitty would be the first person to test out my product on his cars. In return, he would be adverting and promoting individuals to buy my product. 2)   Supplier Expert JC AutoZone is the manager at an AutoZone shop. The slot I will be filling is the supplier expert.  He promotes the products in shop; therefore, he is a great person to be in contact if I wa...
