REVISED VENTURE CONCEPT

1) Disclaimer : I received positive feedback for my business venture concept so I decided to only tweak it a bit but pretty much keep everything the same.

OPPORTUNITY

It seems that people tend to forget how to drive when it rains. This  usually stems from the fear of not being able to see what is ahead, behind, and side as they drive. Though half the battle is solved  with wind shield wipers for the front and back, the windows are still a problem. There is an opportunity to solve this problem by creating a product that will ensure that drivers ( customers) can see on the side of their windows as they drive. Therefore, there is a unmet need in regards to the safety of drivers who commonly drive in the rain. This need is most common in cities like Seattle, Washington,  Portland, Oregon or even in Gainesville, Fl that experience heavy rain all year round. The only demographic restriction to this opportunity is that it only applies to those who are legally able to drive by age, but in general, there are no other restrictions in terms of race, gender, and sex. This opportunity is a start of a domino effect to ensuring that individuals are safe when they drive in the rain. No longer will they forget how to drive.

Innovation

To combat this unmet need, I decided to come up with the idea of creating a product that would help customers see clearly on their sides when it rains. The product would be similar wind shield wipers for the customers car, but instead, it will be referred to as windows shield wipers.  The window shield wipers will come in different sizes and shapes to fit the style multiple cars. Therefore, the price range of the windows shield wipers will be dependent on the type of car. Though the prices range, they are still economically friendly to our customers because they prices will range below 150 dollars. One cool feature of the window shield wipers is that customers have the option of having it installed by a mechanic or by themselves. The reason being that they can have the option of using the window shield wipers when needed. The main problem with the window shield wipers when I created this business idea was that it could be distracting. This is why I wanted to give customers the option replacing the product themselves. Also, I have decided give customers the option of trying out the product before purchasing as well as different warranty packages if they decide to go through with the purchase.

Venture Concept

This innovation will eliminate unwanted distractions such as struggling to see past the windows. This will ensure that customers are focused on driving; thus, eliminating car accidents and other hazardous incidents. I feel that customers will want to switch to this product because it is very innovative. I do not think that this product has been invented before so customers will be intrigued to see how it works.  My competitors could be car manufactures who have been in the car industry for a while. They may seem to have more experience than I would. Although, I feel that customers enjoy having a new face in the industry. They tend to question the motivates of some car companies in terms of whether or not they are just trying to make sale/commission.  When I was thinking of price, I was trying to keep the prices low because my segment was first catered to college students. Not only because most car accidents happen with college students, but to also finances is a big concern for them. With the affordable prices, it makes my product more attractive than other competitors.

2) Overall, I received encouraging feedback on my venture concept as well as on my "What's Next" assignment. One feedback I got back also agree that it was a great idea to also focus on my "new market" because it will enable my business to grow even more than just with the affluent society. Also, another individual stated that the poll I suggest would be  good idea but also the informational sessions will be really beneficial to the success of my business. These feedbacks were similar to the venture concept one as well.

3) Like I stated before, I did not change much in my venture concept. One commonality I found in all the feedback I received was that everyone agreed that safety is definitely a big thing to always keep in mind for my business. A few went ahead and shared their personal experience with driving in the rain. It made me definitely want to keep the focus of my business venture concept on how to continue to ensure that my customers remain safe.

Its great that you used your feedback in a constructive manner and edited your venture concept. I agree that safety would be of the utmost importance for this product and you would need to test your product many many times before launching it. Great job.
